Today we woke up and made plans. Plans to go sledding as a family (sadly something we have never done). It was a cold 8 degrees outside. Because it was our day off and the last one before school starts again, tomorrow, we took it slow. We planned on driving to the sand dunes up north about 45 minutes away; by Brandon's parents home. We invited family members to meet us and then we began to get ready. That is when the craziness began. We couldn't find a boot or a glove or two pairs of snow pants. The babies are teething and crying for an early nap. Kaylie's diorama for school wasn't quite done. It was absurd. We moved the meeting time back another hour but after feeling completely stressed out we decided not to go up north but to stay here in town for our own sanity. We went and bought new boots, new snow pants, new other stuff and made our way to a near by snow hill. (By the way, buy snow sledds BEFORE Christmas not after. They were mostly gone). As we drove over to the hill both Brandon and I were wondering "why" we were making this painful trek to go sledding. As we drove up the kids eyes got big as they wondered what it would be like to fly down the hill they saw right outside the car door. When they hopped out of the car and ran up the hill making loud noises of joy for over and hour (sigh) YES we decided it was worth it.
