Starting Again: Raspberries and Some doctor appointments

Our Raspberries finally came on about a week ago and they are DELICIOUS!!  Ash loves to help me out by going and picking them for me.  She's my little Gardener.  Kaylie use to be but she's kind of going through a phase of being afraid of bugs right now.

We have been picking them every day and you would think we would have enough to make jam BUT my little gardener also likes to eat them . . . all of them.

My sister-in-law graciously shared her famous orange jello recipe with me.  The jello is really good but the topping is decadent.  We now make it with all our jello and it was a perfect combination with the raspberry jello and home grown raspberries on top.  There was no left overs last night.

Sierra's Doctor Appointments
We have been catching up on Sierra's doctor appointments this month.  She grew out of her old glasses and Cameron scratched them with his teeth so we went to a new doctor here in town and he was AWESOME!  I really liked him and we will be going back.  He also just so happens to be our new neighbor.  Most doctors just tell us all the bad stuff, the bad news which can leave a lot of room for negative thinking.  But this doctor told us all the great things about her eye sight.  We thought that she couldn't see AT ALL but we were wrong.  She can actually see really well.  The eye doctor at primary children's is great, and we will also still see him, but he didn't really explain very much to us.  She got new glasses and they are wonderful.  The first time I put them on her she went to pull them off but when I said "no, no" she stopped and now she only pulls them off when she's tired or really wanting some attention.
She also met with her neurologist last week.  We did not expect anything new so it was quite upsetting when the surgeon told us that he wants her to have an MRI done in a month and then he might put in a shunt to drain the extra fluid that is on her brain.  We didn't even think there was fluid there.  I just keep thinking about what my friend once told me "celebrate the good doctor appointments because the hard ones will knock you off your feet".  Sierra is truley amazing.   The neurologist was really surprised that her body is not reacting to the fluid.  She should be very sleepy, throwing up, and extremely cranky.  She is only cranky when her brother is bothering her.  She hasn't been sick since her heart surgery, not even a cold; and I WISH she would take more naps.  I can't believe what she endures.  She is truly an angel.  She brings so much happiness into our lives.  She only cries when her needs are not being met.  I love this sweet angel so much.  She has changed me forever.

Doesn't she look so smart and studious reading her book.  We love to read.

Cameron decided to join in on her reading time but she was not very happy about him climbing all over her.  Thank goodness Kaylie came to the rescue.  Brothers (sigh) they can be such pests!  (wink, wink).
